2006 Building Energy Conference and Trade Show
A huge success!
Proven Profitable Partnership • March 7–9, 2006
We broke all records for attendance, media interest and Trade Show vendors.
- Workshops and sessions were very well-attended.
- Our Public Forum, "Energy: Crisis or Opportunity" was rich and full of content about energy issues. It was expertly moderated by NECN's Jim Braude with seven New England energy professionals on the panel.
- It was heartening to have Mayor Thomas Menino offer welcoming remarks and to hear about Boston's greening plans. Bob Berkebile's Opening Plenary remarks were given to a standing room only crowd of over 1,000.
- NESEA Night was filled with fun, hilarity and more than 70 great auction items.
Thanks to our registrants for joining us, to our fantastic speakers for sharing crucial information, to our 150 exhibitors for bringing green products and services, and to our terrific volunteers for helping us organize our best conference to date. NESEA is fortunate to benefit from so much good energy from those who care deeply about making a difference as we move into the future...together!

Elevate Your Practice
Building Energy provides a unique opportunity to understand and be exposed to ideas and interests that will raise the level of your work. In fact, we believe that practicing sustainability relies on our ability to embrace distributed problem solving and team based multi-disciplinary practice, taking our efforts to the next level. You’ll be joining professionals whose skills and experience will increase your own capacities. This is your opportunity to develop and renew relationships and expand your knowledge of the work of others.
Discover New Resources
We invite our Trade Show exhibitors to introduce their latest products and technologies at Building Energy. This is your opportunity to see the range of products and services that you rely on in your practice. You’ll meet one on one with knowledgeable product representatives, and in some cases, the designers of these products themselves.
Be Inspired by Sustainability
We are hoping to challenge and enlighten you. Building Energy is known for exploring and integrating new technologies and revealing new ideas well before they are understood or adopted by the mainstream. This is why we have chosen Proven, Profitable, Partnerships for our theme — recognizing that practitioners attending this conference are refining and expanding, as well as discovering, real solutions. We invite you to become engaged and share the awe that motivates us and gives us hope.
Create a Framework for the Future
How do we structure a response for generations to come? Sustainability means embracing emerging practices and practitioners — creating a forum for ideas and people to inhabit. We’d like to encourage this generation and the next to attend and participate, expanding everyone’s view and sustaining our practice. We’re creating a Gallery of Generation for you to view the creativity of work created by students and the imagination of projects that are still on the drawing board.
Grow Ideas
Building Energy is all about expanding, amplifying and communicating our abilities both individually and collectively. If you practice sustainability, this is where you belong. We want you to plan on attending Building Energy on March 7–9, 2006 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. We know that if you are pursuing the Practice of Sustainability you will be compelled to join us!
